Bio:
Here
at Walla Walla Wood Works I strive to create beautiful
one-of-a-kind
pieces of art by reclaiming wood from local trees
that have already been cut down. I primarily make bowls
(of all sizes and shapes), wine bottle stoppers, boxes and oil
lamps.
I’ve
been turning wood for over 20 yrs and have taken classes and training
from some world-renowned turners. Walla Walla, being the oldest
city in the state, has an abundance of mature domestic hardwood
trees available, and with patience, time and effort the wood from
these different trees can take on many new forms. The process
takes
over a year for drying and then many hours to turn, finish and
polish each piece. Each day I work on my New Zealand-built lathe
looking to create the perfect form to highlight what nature created
first.
I
look forward to seeing you at the Walla Walla Valley Farmers’
Market. I also sell my wares at several sites around town. Feel
free to give me a call if you have any questions.
